Careers

Work with a team that understands the field from the ground up.

MFRS India is building a research, field-operations and data-services organisation around people who can do the work carefully, communicate clearly and take responsibility for what reaches the client.

Some roles at MFRS will be permanent. Many field roles will be project-based because survey teams change with geography, sample, language, timeline and workload. We prefer to say that clearly rather than make every engagement sound permanent when it is not.

Why Work With MFRS

What you are likely to learn here comes directly from the work.

Research and field assignments change from project to project. That means the experience gained here is usually built through different respondent groups, sectors, geographies, tools and operational problems rather than one repetitive process.

Exposure to different kinds of research

Assignments may involve public health, education, livelihoods, agriculture, financial inclusion, market research or government programmes.

Senior people who know fieldwork

MFRS includes professionals whose experience ranges from several years to approximately fifteen to twenty years in survey and field operations.

Responsibility is close to the work

Supervisors and project personnel are expected to understand what is happening in the field rather than manage only through numbers on a sheet.

Skills that move beyond one project

Survey tools, respondent handling, monitoring, reporting, quality checks and data discipline remain useful across different assignments.

Multi-state project exposure

Work may involve different regions depending on project requirements and the company’s active assignments.

Clearer expectations

Role type, reporting structure, assignment period and project expectations should be understood before deployment rather than after it.

Career Areas

Different functions keep a research assignment moving.

The areas below describe the kinds of functions MFRS may recruit for as the company and its project pipeline grow. They are not a statement that every role is currently open.

Ways Of Working With MFRS

The engagement model depends on the role and the assignment.

Permanent

Roles connected with continuing organisational responsibilities may be engaged on a longer-term employment basis.

Contractual

Time-bound roles may be created where a project or function has a defined duration or workload.

Project-Based

Field investigators, supervisors, coordinators and other project personnel may be engaged for specific assignments.

Consultancy

Specialist professionals may be engaged for defined technical, research, advisory or project responsibilities.

What matters is clarity: the nature of the engagement, expected duration, role, reporting line, assignment location and applicable commercial terms should be communicated before a person begins work.
Current Opportunities

Vacancies will appear here when there is an actual requirement.

Current Status

No current vacancies are open.

MFRS recruits and engages people according to genuine organisational or project requirements. We do not maintain a permanent “urgent hiring” notice simply to collect CVs. When a role is formally open, the position, location, engagement type, qualification or experience expectations and application instructions will be published here.

What We Look For

A good CV helps. The way someone works matters just as much.

Accuracy

Research work depends on people who can follow instructions, record information properly and avoid making up an answer when something is unclear.

Reliability

A field team needs people who arrive, communicate and complete agreed responsibilities rather than disappear when conditions become difficult.

Communication

Problems should be reported early. Good communication matters with respondents, supervisors, team members and clients.

Respect for respondents

Participants are not just sample numbers. Professional conduct in the field is part of research quality.

Ability to learn

Different projects use different questionnaires, tools and methods. People need to learn the assignment rather than depend only on past habits.

Documentation discipline

Reporting, attendance, field records and supporting documents matter because project work has to remain understandable after the day is over.

A Note For Field Applicants

Field research is real work, not just travelling with a questionnaire.

What field assignments may actually involve

Depending on the study, field personnel may work in villages, towns, urban neighbourhoods, institutions, schools, hospitals, offices, markets or other project locations. Travel, early starts, repeat visits, respondent non-availability and changes in route can be part of the assignment.

A project may require digital data collection, GPS, photographs, telephonic follow-up, daily reporting, back-check cooperation, institutional interviews or other study-specific processes. The expected work should be explained during project briefing or onboarding.

Applicants should therefore consider the actual field requirement before accepting an assignment rather than treating field work as interchangeable from one survey to another.

Recruitment Process

When a position is open, selection follows a defined process.

The exact process may be shorter for a temporary field assignment and more detailed for a permanent or specialist position, but the basic stages remain similar.

01

Application

CV or requested details submitted against the specific opportunity.

02

Screening

Review of relevant experience, qualifications, location and role fit.

03

Interview / Assessment

Discussion, test or practical assessment depending on the role.

04

Verification

Relevant identity, qualification or experience documents may be checked.

05

Selection

Suitable candidates receive role and engagement details.

06

Onboarding

Joining formalities, project briefing, reporting structure and training.

What We Expect From Our People

Professional behaviour does not become optional when the team leaves the office.

  • Be accurate. Do not fabricate interviews, attendance, field visits or project records.
  • Respect confidentiality. Respondent, client and project information should not be casually shared.
  • Treat respondents properly. Courtesy and dignity matter even when the field day is difficult.
  • Follow the project protocol. A shortcut that changes respondent selection, consent or data quality is not simply an efficiency improvement.
  • Report problems early. Access issues, delays, tool problems and quality concerns should reach the appropriate supervisor while they can still be addressed.
  • Keep records properly. Attendance, travel, expenses, reporting and project documents should be maintained according to assignment requirements.
  • Represent MFRS honestly. Team members must not make commitments, promises or claims on behalf of the company that they are not authorised to make.
Recruitment Conduct

Recruitment should be clear enough that candidates know what they are agreeing to.

MFRS aims to recruit and engage people according to legitimate role requirements, capability, conduct and assignment needs.

Recruitment safety: candidates should rely on official MFRS communication for confirmed opportunities. A job or field assignment should not be treated as confirmed merely because an informal third party says that a position is available.
No false guarantee: sending a CV or expressing interest does not guarantee employment or placement on a project. Selection depends on actual vacancies, assignment requirements and the relevant recruitment process.
Future Opportunities

Interested in working with MFRS later?

You may introduce your professional background to us.

If there is no current vacancy, you may still send a brief introduction and CV for future reference. Please mention your main area of experience, current location and the kind of role or field assignment you are interested in.

Submission does not create a commitment from either side, and MFRS may contact candidates only where a relevant requirement arises.

We want people who can be trusted with the part of the project that carries their name.

Whether the role is research, field operations, data, administration or project management, the expectation is similar: understand the work, communicate clearly, document it properly and take responsibility for what you deliver.
