Thematic areas shaped by field experience, not by a catalogue.
MFRS India works across social, economic, public-sector and market-research themes where strong research design needs to be matched by practical field execution, monitoring and reliable data.
The areas below reflect sectors in which members of the MFRS team bring relevant professional experience and where the company is positioned to support research, surveys, monitoring, evaluation, data collection and related assignments. They are not presented as a list of projects completed by MFRS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED.
Sector knowledge matters, but so does understanding how the work behaves on the ground.
The same survey method does not work identically with farmers, health workers, students, government institutions or urban consumers. MFRS approaches thematic work by combining subject context with field planning, respondent realities and the specific evidence the assignment needs to produce.
Start with the question
We first understand what the client is trying to learn or verify, then determine the field and data approach around it.
Adjust to the respondent
A farmer interview, facility assessment, household survey and consumer study require different preparation and field handling.
Keep experience and evidence separate
Team experience informs capability, while company assignments are identified separately as MFRS work.
Areas where MFRS brings relevant sector and field understanding.
Public Health
Research involving household health, reproductive and family planning, maternal health, service utilisation, frontline health workers and public-health facilities. Depending on the assignment, this may include household surveys, facility assessments, provider interviews, monitoring or programme evaluation.
Agriculture & Rural Development
Farmer- and village-level research relating to agricultural practices, rural livelihoods, markets, service access and programme implementation. Work in this theme may involve producers, rural households, community institutions and government-linked programmes.
Education & Skill Development
Research involving education access, institutions, training programmes, skill development, youth outcomes and the relationship between training and employment.
Financial Inclusion & Economic Research
Household and community research on access to financial services, financial behaviour, financial literacy, household economic conditions and wider rural or consumer sentiment.
Livelihoods & Employment
Studies involving household livelihoods, employment, enterprise, wage work, livelihood programmes and implementation of employment-support schemes.
Women & Child Development
Research connected with women’s wellbeing, maternal and child health, nutrition, gender, safety, early childhood development and community-level programme delivery.
Disability & Social Protection
Large-scale identification, household research, verification and programme-related studies involving persons with disabilities and other social-protection groups.
Water, Sanitation & Rural Infrastructure
Monitoring and field assessment of drinking-water access, sanitation, village-level service delivery and rural infrastructure programmes.
Government Schemes & Programme Evaluation
Monitoring, verification and evaluation of government programmes and public-service delivery, including assignments that involve households, local institutions, facilities and community-level implementation.
Market & Consumer Research
Research designed to understand consumer behaviour, service usage, digital-platform adoption, market conditions and respondent perceptions for private-sector and institutional clients.
Community & Public Service Access
Research on awareness, access, utilisation and user experience of community-facing public services, government platforms and local service-delivery points.
Some research questions sit across sectors rather than inside one of them.
MFRS may work with these themes across health, education, agriculture, livelihoods, government programmes or market research depending on the assignment.
Gender
Participation, access, safety, programme reach and differential outcomes.
Youth
Education, skills, employment, digital use and programme participation.
Vulnerability & Inclusion
Access and outcomes among groups requiring specific research attention.
Digital Access
Technology adoption, platforms, service access and digital behaviour.
Behaviour & Awareness
Knowledge, attitudes, practices, perception and programme awareness.
Service Delivery
Availability, accessibility, usage, quality and implementation gaps.
Institutional Capacity
Systems, staffing, processes, coordination and implementation capability.
Programme Outcomes
Changes in reach, behaviour, services and outcomes over time.
The sector tells us what the assignment is about. The service defines what we do within it.
Research & Surveys
Baseline, midline, endline, household, institutional, market, KAP and other assignment-specific research across relevant sectors.
Monitoring & Verification
Programme monitoring, third-party verification, facility assessment and field-level review against agreed indicators.
Data, Analysis & Reporting
Field data collection, data management, analytical support, documentation and reporting according to project scope.
A thematic area is not the same thing as a completed MFRS project.
MFRS distinguishes between the professional experience of its people and assignments undertaken by MFRS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED.
References to earlier studies or sectors on this page are used to explain the experience and subject familiarity that individuals bring to the organisation. Company-level assignments are identified separately on our work and project pages.
Sector knowledge helps us ask better questions. Field experience helps us understand whether those questions will work in practice.
MFRS brings both into the assignment — adapting research, monitoring and field operations to the people, institutions and programme environment being studied.
